摘要: . Consecutive survivors of a myocardial infarction from the Southern Hospital, below 70 years age, were randomized into Control group (n=276) and Treatment (n=279). The latter was openly prescribed combination clofibrate nicotinic acid for serum lipid lowering. Each patient should remain in study 5 be seen regularly every 4 months at special IHD outpatient clinic within hospital. concentration cholesterol triglyceride lowered by 13% 19%, respectively, compared to group. Total mortality 82 cases 61 group, 26% reduction (p 1.5 mmol/l (n=216). Secondly, it most pronounced 44% treated patients who had lowering 30% or more, this subgroup 60% (p<0.01). For there no such relations. difference between triglycerides concerning these relations treatment outcome may due fact that hypertriglyceridaemia common hyperlipidaemia among our patients, occurring 50%, while hypercholesterolaemia only occurred 13 %. Caution exercised interpretation results as trial not blind. However, decrease deaths directly related degree indicates drug effect on lipids reponsible beneficial treatment.
