摘要: Using comprehensive administrative data on France's single largest financial aid program, this paper provides new evidence the impact of large-scale need-based grant programs college enrollment decisions, persistence, and graduation rates low-income students. We exploit sharp discontinuities in eligibility formula to identify student outcomes at different levels study. find that provision 1,500 euros cash allowances prospective undergraduate or graduate students increases their by 5 7 percent. Moreover, we show grants have positive effects persistence degree completion.
