Nanoparticle-Enhanced Fluorescence Imaging of Latent Fingerprints Reveals Drug Abuse

摘要: No sweat! The sweat in a latent fingerprint (LFP) can contain orally ingested drugs and their metabolites. In new method for drug detection, primary antibodies(Abs) against metabolites are conjugated to magnetic nanoparticles (NPs). LFP is incubated with the NPs, excess particles removed, treated fluorescently labeled secondary antibody. Fluorescence imaging then allows characterization.
