摘要: Dogs and wolves are part of the rich palette predators scavengers that co-evolved with herding ungulates about 10 Ma BP (million years before present). During Ice Age, gray wolf, Canis lupus, became top predator Eurasia. Able to keep pace herds migratory first mammalian “pastoralists”. Apes evolved as a small cluster inconspicuous treedwelling fruit-eating primates. Our own species separated from chimpanzee-like ancestors in Africa around 6 and‐ apparently wider context global climate changes Age‐walked true humans (Homo erectus) into open savanna. Thus an agile tree climber transformed swift, cursorial running ape, potential for adopting life style had become essential inhabitants savanna steppe. In absence fruit trees, early turned omnivorous gatherers scavengers. They moved steppe Eurasia skilled hunters. Sometime during last our teamed up pastoralist wolves. First, presumably, some adopted wolves’ herd followers herders reindeer other hoofed animals. Wolves found their match. We propose contacts between were truly mutual, subsequent both understood best co-evolution.
