Increase of Progesterone Receptor by Tamoxifen as a Hormonal Challenge Test in Breast Cancer

摘要: In 25 cases of postmenopausal breast cancer, estradiol receptor (ER) and progesterone (PR) were measured in cutaneous metastatic nodules before after administration 30 mg tamoxifen per day for 1 week. No response was recorded ER-poor cases. However, tumors containing >10 fmol ER cytosol protein, 6 14 showed an increase PR >30 fmol/mg protein. The presence or absence did not discriminate systematically between hormone-responsive nonresponsive tumors. These findings demonstrate vivo that biochemical changes brought about by agent binding to can be observed only ER-positive addition they suggest that, these responding PR, the simultaneous sequential both antiestrogen (rescuing PR) progestagen (decreasing may allow better hormonal control disease.
