Clinically these tumours pose exceptional problems management, skilled multidisciplinary teams necessary order to achieve highest level service research. Historically, surgery radiotherapy have been treatment modalities; chemotherapy is now increasingly employed but not yet fully established. Successful rehabilitation patients with cancers requires access high quality speech therapists other support staff training functional pharyngeal disorders. Current research efforts largely directed towards defining proper role assessing possible advantage unconventional radiation approaches. recent years roles primary, reconstructive, salvage also become better defined.
