摘要: The demography of a sub-alpine population feral pigs was examined at Kosciusko National Park in south-eastern New South Wales. Reproductive data and age structures indicated seasonal pattern breeding, most births occurring summer autumn. It is proposed that decreasing availability high protein food the autumn winter months caused reduced rates conception. Sows produced 0.84 litters per year with postnatal mortality as 85%. appeared relatively stable density 1.6 kg-2. Hunting, although illegal national park, removed 4.4-15.4% each year. overall health body condition good, no evidence heavy parasitic burdens or disease. Age-specific weight length this study were greater than those reported for semi-arid wester
