摘要: Hispanosinuites peeli new genus and species from the Lower Oretan shales (Middle Ordovician) of central Spain is described placed in subfamily Hispanosinuitinae family Sinuitidae. This considered to represent a highly specialized phylogenetic lineage, which probably separated morphological range Sinuites during Early Ordovician. The outer shell surface entirely covered by secondary layers, are interpreted as perinductura, inductura coinductura. similarity these deposits Euphemites suggests that layers were secreted mantle flaps having same form both genera. mobile mollusc with an internal adapted infaunal mode life. Discovery this unusual reopens question relations families Sinuitidae Euphemitidae, often assigned different molluscan classes.
