摘要: This paper analyses a number of possible reasons why modern psychiatry has neglected the therapeutic effects religious beliefs. The gap which exists between and religion is relatively recent phenomenon partly related to psychiatry's progress in elucidating biological psychological causes mental illness, rendering explanations superfluous. In addition, it often assumed that attitudes are inevitably linked with phenomena such as dependence guilt frequently seen undesirable. Psychiatrists psychologists tend be less religiously orientated than their patients, may further increase professional's idea beliefs associated disturbance. However, long been suspected positive relation health, recently, psychology provided empirical support for this idea. Psychiatry faces challenge accommodate evidence into theory practice.
