摘要: In this study, the fruit of Catalpa bignonioides was used as raw material to obtain low-cost activated carbon. The activation process carried out by using chemical method with zinc chloride. carbon (CAC) characterized elemental analyzer, Brunauer-Emmet-Teller (BET), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectra (FTIR), and point zero charge (pHZPC). BET surface area CAC prepared impregnation ratio 30 % ZnCl2 (w/w) found be 896.02 m2/g. efficiency in removal methylene blue (MB) from aqueous solution searched different factors, such temperature, pH, adsorbent concentration, dye contact time. From experimental data obtained, studies related adsorption isotherm, kinetics, thermodynamics were performed. Langmuir model provided best fit, capacity for calculated 271.00 mg/g at 25 °C. follows a pseudo-second-order kinetic model. Moreover, thermodynamic parameters ΔG°, ΔH°, ΔS° presented that spontaneous endothermic.
