摘要: We experimentally examined the growth, microstructure, and chemistry of shells bloody clam, Scapharca broughtonii (Mollusca: Bivalvia), reared at five temperatures (13, 17, 21, 25, 29°C) with a constant pCO2 condition (∼450 μatm). In this species, exterior side shell is characterized by composite prismatic structure; on interior side, it has crossed lamellar structure surface. previously found negative correlation between temperature relative thickness in field-collected specimens. specimens, relationship curve growth increment was humped shaped, maximum 17°C, which compatible results obtained contrast, over range tested. These suggest that principally accounts for thermal dependency inference supported finding rates were significantly correlated structure. also rearing δ18O margin, close quantitative agreement previous reports. The findings presented here will contribute to improved age determination fossil recent clams based seasonal microstructural records.
