Comparing the working patterns of older people to those of younger people : static and dynamic empirical analyses in selected economies

摘要: Under the trend of ageing population, older people have a greater potential to be part future labour force. Their employment patterns therefore deserve governments' attention. This thesis compares those younger in selected economies. In first study we decompose age-employment gaps using non-linear Oaxaca-Blinder decompositions U.S., U.K. and Hong Kong. Explained factors explain nearly entire U.S. Kong but not second study, investigate job preferences addition outcomes.
