摘要: The Materials Characterization Center (MCC) was established at the Pacific Northwest Laboratory to assemble a standardized nuclear waste materials data base for use in research, systems and facility design, safety analyses, management decisions. This centralized will be provided through means of Nuclear Waste Handbook. first issue Handbook published fall 1981 looseleaf format so that it can updated as additional information becomes available. To ensure utmost reliability, all appearing obtained by standard procedures defined approved an independent Review Board (MRB) comprised experts from Department Energy laboratories universities industry. In interim before publication there is need report summarizing existing on forms. review summarizes property forms are being developed immobilization high-level radioactive waste. It intended good representation knowledge concerning properties HLW March 1981. table contents lists following topics: introduction which covers waste-formmore » categories, important waste-form properties; physical mechanical chemical durability; vaporization; radiation effects; thermal phase stability.« less
