摘要: Machine-to-Machine (M2M) communication is the leading technology for realising Internet-of-Things (IoT). The M2M sensor nodes are characterized by low-power and low-data rates devices which have increased exponentially over years. IPv6 low power wireless personal area network (6LoWPAN) first protocol that provides connectivity to nodes. Having a tremendous number of execute independent control decision leads difficulty in management. In addition, these evergrowing generate massive traffic cause energy scarcity, affects node lifetime. Recently, software defined-networking (SDN) functioning virtualization (NFV) being used networks add programmability flexibility features order adopt exponential increment enable configuration even after deployment. This paper presents proof-of-concept implementation aims analyze how SDN, NFV, cloud computing can interact together 6LoWPAN gateway provide simplicity proposed approach called customized defined-NFV (SD-NFV), has been tested verified implementing real-time testbed. experimental results indicated SD-NFV reduced discovery time 60% extended node’s lifetime 65% comparison traditional network. implemented testbed one sink where coordinator SDN controller executed. There many possible ways implement but limited based on open standards development boards (e.g., Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Beagle Bones). current testbed, Arduino board chosen written using C++ language fit requirements. Finally, NFV envisioned as most promising techniques improve programmability, simplicity, management cloud-based gateway.
