摘要: Eating disorders are more common in females than males and believed to be caused, part, by biological hormonal factors. Digit ratio or 2D:4D (the of the 2nd 4th digit) is considered a proxy for prenatal testosterone (PT) oestrogen (PE) exposure. However, how may related type eating pathology unknown. The relationship between disorder diagnosis was investigated recovered currently disordered (n = 31) control 99) women. Mean significantly lower (indicating higher levels PT PE) anorexic (AN) compared bulimic (BN) women, with controls intermediary. In positively current weight, lowest weight BMI, strongest associations right 2D:4D. Among low AN high BN, suggesting differential causal influence sex hormones on later pathology.
