Tree Regeneration Under Different Land-Use Mosaics in the Brazilian Amazon's "Arc of Deforestation".

摘要: We studied the tree-regeneration patterns in three distinct agricultural settlements Eastern Amazon to test influence of land-use mosaics. The following questions are addressed: floristic structure and composition regenerating trees affected by various types applied settlements? Do respond similarly mosaics? Is there a relationship between tree regeneration soil characteristics among types? was inventoried at 45 sampling points each settlement. At point, fourteen variables were analyzed. Nine different considered. showed differences density individuals species high heterogeneity types. maximum Jaccard similarity coefficient found only 29 %. Shade-tolerant most diverse functional group types, including pasture annual crops, ranging from 91 % number conserved exploited forests Travessao 338-S 53 invaded pastures Macaranduba. influenced significantly two settlements, but not third settlement, which had greater forest cover.
