Prevalence of asthma and hay fever in England and Wales.

摘要: The results concerned with the prevalence of asthma and hay fever in large surveys morbidity general practice 1970-1 1981-2 were compared. In data standardised for age men increased from 11.6 to 20.5 people consulting per 1000 population (p less than 0.001) women 8.8 15.9 0.001). Similar increases also evident analysed 19 practices contributing both surveys. each group examined. Increases similar magnitude reported fever--the 10.8 19.8 10.3 19.7 occurred all groups. acute bronchitis was reduced significantly 5-14 among elderly. chronic substantially 1981-2. represented a real increase not accounted by changes diagnostic preference. Only there any likelihood that some might have resulted reduction bronchitis.
