摘要: Abstract Corpus luteum development, placentation, and embryonic development were observed in pregnant viviparous lizards ( Sceloporus jarrovi ). Plasma progesterone concentration was also determined monthly during pregnancy using radioimmunoassay. S. exhibits gonadal growth, ovulation, fertilization the autumn. Embryonic occurs throughout winter at a reduced rate. Four simultaneous events occur fourth month of (March): (1) significant decrease diameter corpora lutea, (2) onset rapid (3) formation chorioallantoic placenta, (4) marked increase plasma concentration. These observations suggest that lutea are not only source , as they have degenerated when major peak is observed. The most likely candidates for biosynthesis secretion placenta or atretica this species.
