摘要: Human welfare depends on the health of nature. Decades ill-conceived management practices caused a decline in quality human life, as well biological and cultural diversity. Simultaneously, they increased social ecological risks. For instance, mismanagement urban rivers jeopardizes their ability to provide ecosystem services. While demands for responsible riverscape design that fulfill both needs are increasing, explicit recommendations achieve these ambitious goals still lacking. We present first attempt conceptualization Human–River Encounter Sites targets reconciliation between humans nature within river corridors. It builds upon River Culture Concept with literature reviews experiences from restoration projects. identify six tenets important develop guidelines Sites: health, safety, functionality, accessibility, collaboration, awareness. This paper presents how can collectively help harmonize citizens biota, mitigate current crisis. contribution feeds debate sustainable socio-ecological provides implementation future restorations efforts.
