Terahertz dielectric properties of polystyrene foam

摘要: We have performed terahertz time-domain spectroscopy measurements on three types of polystyrene foam. find that between 0.2 and 4 THz, the extinction this material is low it has a remarkably refractive index 1.017 to 1.022 in range, with little variation as function frequency. In foam produced HCFC 142b gas (1-chloro-1,1-difluoroethane) blowing agent, we an additional absorption band at 0.5 THz caused by rotational transitions gas. The make very suitable be used dichroic filter blocks near-IR transmits radiation small losses less than 1.5 cm-1 for frequencies <4 substrate imaging.
