摘要: Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells are resistant to infection by all of the major classes murine retroviruses and partially gibbon ape leukemia virus. Treatment CHO with glycosylation inhibitor tunicamycin rendered these susceptible retroviral vectors ecotropic, xenotropic, amphotropic host ranges increased titer virus pseudotyped 10-fold. Vectors having a polytropic range did not infect in presence or absence tunicamycin, showing that effect was specific related pseudotype vector. We present evidence for three mechanisms resistance infection: lack viral receptors on cells, nonfunctional which can be made functional treatment secretion protein factor blocks cells. Several criteria indicate secreted is an interferon, this detected several other cell lines were examined.
