The literature search included peer-reviewed journals (both full articles and abstracts), conference proceedings theses documents written English, Spanish, French, Portuguese or Italian. study outcome defined as difference (kg/cow per day) between treated untreated Random effect meta-analyses were performed 75 trials published 1972 2002. combined after controlling for publication bias and/or small-study 0.35 kg/cow day. Significant variation among studies detected although several variables associated with outcome, they did not significantly reduce unexplained variability trials. Trials reporting use endectocides had higher milk-production response compared using older anthelmintics. Similarly, whole-herd which applied mid-lactation strategically throughout year calving dry-period results total 305-day lower measured daily weight. Primiparous cows responses multiparous
