摘要: The use of advanced practice professionals (APPs) has been established in oncology care. APPs are frequently the most readily available ordering provider for care guidance when it becomes evident that a patient with cancer is failing. purpose current preliminary descriptive project was to determine best method assessing APP performance oncology-specific circumstances, particularly failing cancer. A test group 14 completed competency self-assessment, Basic Knowledge Assessment Tool (BKAT)-8SR, and attended four-hour simulation classroom experience. Competency checklists 30 priority interventions each scenario had anticipated by an expert panel. self-assessment measured knowledge base critical thinking. All scored at or above level nurse one year experience on BKAT-8SR. Twenty-seven were enacted all APPs. Five additional ordered not anticipated. success this educational strategy stimulated new learning opportunities, including initiation full-team failure-to-rescue simulation, course restructuring, other innovative experiences.
