摘要: Abstract Rice yellow mottle virus causes yield losses of 10–100%, depending on disease epidemiology, cultivar grown and cropping system. Resistant rice varieties with farmer consumer-preferred traits are, however, not available in Uganda. This study was conducted to identify new sources resistance RYMV. One hundred twelve (112) genotypes were evaluated twice under screen house conditions using isolates from three “hot-spots” Uganda namely, Iganga, Lira Namulonge. Relative area progress stairs, plant height reduction, delay days flowering, reduction chlorophyll content grain weight positively correlated (≥0.47) exhibited high heritability (≥0.71). Eleven resistant six highly identified. These further for performance field trials two seasons central Analysis variance revealed diversity among reaction, agronomic yield. Genotypes IRL 53 (GP 54) Namche 2 performed best most evaluated, selection indices (22.74 21.92, respectively). 4 (69 GP the yielding. four should be screened narrow leaf brown spot, spot bacterial streak. Multi-locational evaluation also done promising development improved farmer-preferred traits.
