摘要: Biological invasions of aquatic macroinvertebrates are gaining interest because their potential for significant ecological and socio-economic impacts (positive negative). In the present study, an inventory was made alien occurring in Flanders (northern Belgium) based on extensive existing collections biological samples supplemented with our additional sampling programs. Fresh brackish waters as well Belgian coastal harbours, situated at interface marine environment, were investigated. Over 2,500 containing identified to species level, which allowed us accurately map distribution Flanders. Alien widespread abundant many watercourses Four new macroinvertebrate discovered: Procambarus clarkii (Girard, 1852), Echinogammarus trichiatus (Martynov, 1932), Synurella ambulans (F. Muller, 1846) Laonome calida Capa, 2007. Fifty-two encountered fresh slightly surface waters, 21 reported part North Sea its adjacent estuaries. Most collected crustaceans molluscs. found water mainly originate from Ponto-Caspian area America; fewer originated Asia South- East-Europe. The major pathways probably shipping dispersal through canals. Based observations neighbouring countries, several expected arrive near future. Follow-up work is needed assess economic macroinvertebrates, a monitoring program detect incoming species.
