Novel Activated Carbon Monoliths for Methane Adsorption Obtained from Coffee Husks

摘要: Methane adsorption by different forms of activated carbon obtained from coffee husks, including monolith honeycomb and disc types, was studied activation with zinc salts potassium hydroxide at 298.15 K 303.15 pressures up to 30.00 atm in a volumetric apparatus. We observed increased methane capacity on mass basis the monoliths increasing surface area, total pore volume micropore volume, type displaying highest absorption capacity. The maximum uptake synthesised be 130 V/V for chloride (ZnCl2) Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) as binder. Adsorption calorimetry results were used describe interaction between guest molecules adsorbent low coverage energetic heterogeneous nature adsorbent.
