Thermal degradation of poly(dimethyl-p-silphenylene) and poly(tetramethyl-p-silphenylene-siloxane)

摘要: Abstract i.r. Spectra of poly(dimethyl- p -silphenylene), poly(tetramethyl- -silphenylene-siloxane) and their pyrolysis residue were investigated gas chromatographic analyses the volatile products performed. Scission polymer chain results in radicals, leading to some also cross-linking. It represents main thermal degradation reaction both polymers. A rearrangement siloxane bonds, altering polydispersity producing a small amount cyclic products, may take place -silphenylene-siloxane).
