Effect of curing temperature and architectural (monolayer and bilayer) of hybrid films modified with polyethylene glycol for the corrosion protection on tinplate

摘要: Hybrid films obtained by a sol-gel process are based on two important reactions: hydrolysis and condensation. The condensation reaction is influenced the curing temperature, since it induces development of intrinsic properties gel. aim this work to coat tinplate, substrate widely used in packaging industry, with monolayered bilayered hybrid modified polyethylene glycol through dip-coating. results showed that film at 60oC had higher layer thickness, best performance electrochemical assays, as well most hydrophobic character, relation other samples. For systems, 90oC-cured system lower thickness; however, more compact, uniform less porous layer, presented better impedance results, comparison 60oC-cured
