The nanoparticulate metal oxide phosphorylated polyol, wherein the polyol at least two phosphate groups one more hydrophilic selected from group consisting of polyethylene ether moieties, polypropylene polybutylene combinations foregoing moieties. disclosure provides detailed guidance on methods making using such compositions. compositions by present invention are useful as contrast agents for medical imaging techniques magnetic resonance (MR) X-ray imaging. may be administered to subject via variety techniques, among them injection, inhalation, ingestion.
