摘要: The treatment of the rapidly increasing number End-of-Life (EoL) Flat screen Televisions (FTVs) presents major challenges and opportunities. Closing loops in plastic housing material flows remains a particular technical challenge because presence additives, such as Flame Retardants (FR) recovered housings. In framework collaborative project PRIME with TP Vision TV development site for Philips TVs Van Gansewinkel first level recycling plant, series experiments are set up to recycle housings FTVs. these back covers manually disassembled from current WEEE stream sorted based on manufacturers information polymer analysis. With plastics, new testing bars injection molded evaluated. results presented cost-benefit analysis demonstrate economic feasibility closed loop plastics indicate further opportunities design process improvements.
