摘要: At each round of cell division, the DNA must be correctly duplicated and distributed between two daughter cells to maintain genome identity. In order achieve proper chromosome replication segregation, sister chromatids recognized as such kept together until their separation. This process cohesion is mainly achieved through proteinaceous linkages cohesin complexes, which are loaded on they generated during S phase. Cohesion fully removed at anaphase allow segregation. Other (non-proteinaceous) sources consist or chromatid intertwines. a natural consequence replication, but timely resolved before segregation avoid arising lesions instability, hallmark cancer development. As complete resolution intertwines only occurs it not clear whether that persist in mitosis simply an unwanted leftover have functional role. this review, we provide overview chromatids, from origin resolution, discuss consequences failure detection processing speculate potential
