摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the synthesis, structural aspects, and basic chemical properties of formally divalent trivalent titanium zirconium metallocene complexes. The synthesis handling low-valent metallocenes require special experimental procedures because extreme sensitivity compounds toward oxygen, moisture, sometimes even dinitrogen. elements first transition series from vanadium to nickel form stable bis(η-cyclopentadienyl) complexes having normal η -sandwich structure, typical ferrocene. Other attempts have been made at preparing dinitrogen reactive titanocenes. Several possible routes preparation [ -C 5 (CH 3 ) ] 2 Ti explored. best method for pure permethyltitanocene is via adduct. interesting reduction C 10 H 7 moiety probably occurs a successive protonation relatively electron-rich naphthyl ligand. exceptional inertness dinitrogen, which related its high ionization potential, low electron affinity, abnormal strength N≡N bond are well recognized. chemistry zirconium, bis( -pentamethylcyclopentadienyl) systems essentially that monomeric [η-C M units.
