摘要: Despite representing one of the seven most important aquatic habitats in Amazon, little has been done concerning fish inventories on sandy beaches, especially related to fishing gear used these environments. This study aims compare relative efficiency two gears, seine and gill-net, actively (trawling), three beaches lower reaches Rio Purus. Seining resulted a larger number species specimens, whereas for total biomass, gill-nets showed values, mainly represented by Siluriformes. Low similarity between samples (38%) was due different catches each gear: 41 collected only with 32 gill-net. The present strengthens importance using gears experimental fisheries as way overcome inherent selectivity gear, thus improving efficacy sampling poorly-known
