摘要: Positron emission tomography (PET) scanning with [18 F]fluorodeoxyglucose (18 F-FDG) is a useful diagnostic and prediction tool in brain tumors, but its value childhood diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG) still unclear. For interpretation of 18 F-FDG PET results DIPG, uptake values the normal pons children increasing ages are mandatory. The aim this study was to determine standard ratios (SUVr) compare these those DIPG. We studied 36 subjects normal, non-affected (aged 5 23 years) 6 patients DIPG 4 17 who underwent scanning. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) co-registered define regions interest. SUVr SUVrmax for pons/cerebellum (SUVrp/c) pons/occipital lobe (SUVrp/o) were calculated. Independent-samples t tests Mann–Whitney U used mean Pearson’s test correlations. pons, SUVrp/c SUVrp/o 0.65 (±0.054) 0.51 (±0.056), respectively. No significant correlations found between sex, age, nor volume. A modest statistically correlation post-injection time acquisition timing. 0.74 (±0.20) (±0.30), respectively, while SUVrp(max)/c SUVrp(max)/o 1.95 (±0.48) 1.81 (±0.20), unaffected strikingly constant children, irrespective sex can therefore be well as reference studies
