摘要: Sirtuins (SIRT1-7) are a family of nicotine adenine dinucleotide (NAD+)-dependent enzymes that catalyze post-translational modifications proteins. Together, they regulate crucial cellular functions and traditionally associated with aging longevity. Dysregulation sirtuins plays an important role in major diseases, including cancer metabolic, cardiac, neurodegerative diseases. They extensively regulated response to wide range stimuli, nutritional metabolic challenges, inflammatory signals or hypoxic oxidative stress. Each sirtuin is individually tissue- cell-specific manner. The control expression involves all the points regulation, transcriptional mechanisms microRNAs. Collectively, these protein levels, localization, enzymatic activity sirtuins. In many cases, regulators also their substrates, which lead formation intricate regulatory networks extensive feedback loops. this review, we highlight mediating physiologic pathologic regulation activity. We discuss consequences on function physiology.-Buler, M., Andersson, U., Hakkola, J. Who watches watchmen? Regulation
