French Clitic Movement Without Clitics or Movement

摘要: The French clitic system has posed a persistent challenge to transformational syntactic analysis, which never produced successful account of problems such as ordering. Lexicalist alternatives, however, have been reconciled with the full range familiar and growing body known lexical idiosyncracies. We present lexicalist treatment that treats all 'clitics' pronominal affixes, whose ordering is templatic in nature.
