Delivery of care to hemophilic children: home care versus hospitalization.

摘要: Medical, economic, and social aspects of home care versus hospitalization in treatment hemophiliacs were assessed a two-year study. Thirty-six children divided into two groups. During the first year study half patients hospitalized when bleeding was reported, other treated at by Home Care, team physicians paramedical personnel. second groups changed assignments, thus each served as its own control. Care provided 24-hour telephone service; carried out nurse or school. Results showed that great majority bleedings did not require hospitalization. No complications noted. While on more reported they faster; school attendance better. preferred parents, an excellent model for teaching new role nursepractitioner. Hospital days reduced 85%.
