摘要: Cardiotonic glycosides from plants and esters animal sources have a long-standing use as positive inotropic agents in congestive heart failure related diseases. Their potential new anticancer therapeutics the proof of endogenous cardiotonic steroids humans recently raised lot scientific interest for these compounds. For analysis cardenolides bufadienolides their or natural sources, different chromatographic methods such high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), thin layer chromatography, gas well capillary electrophoresis, spectrophotometric methods, immunoassays been developed with HPLC being most important technique. In this chapter, possibilities qualitative quantitative determinations plant material toad venom are compiled. Sample preparation, modes separation, and/or detection well-established presented. The hyphenated techniques introduced during past decade characterization compounds is Advantages disadvantages differing approaches discussed. Keywords: cardenolides; bufadienolides; chromatography; HPLC; TLC; capillary electrophoresis; immunoassays; spectrophotometry
