Cascaded microring resonators for crosstalk reduction and spectrum cleanup in add-drop filters

摘要: The role of cascaded filters for spectrum cleanup and crosstalk reduction in add-drop is addressed experimentally microring resonator cross-grid technology. fabricated devices consist glass resonators 10 /spl mu/m radius vertically integrated above a waveguide array. Sharper linewidth rolloff flattened passband responses are observed. ratio 15 to 3 dB bandwidth double filter reduced by factor compared with the single-filter case. Because very small dimensions resonators, use multiple improve spectral response consumes negligible chip space.
