摘要: Background Several studies have investigated the oxidative stress parameters in alopecia areata (AA) patients with variable results. This study aims to analyze association between and AA based on current literature. Methods A systematic review of existing literature was performed PubMed, Scopus, Cochrane databases by two authors independently. Mean standard deviation values healthy controls were extracted for quantitative analysis. Results total 18 included Patients had impaired balance elevated levels serum malondialdehyde, nitric oxide, oxidant capacity lower superoxide dismutase, paraoxonase, glutathione peroxidase, antioxidant capacity. Levels significantly higher severe compared mild/moderate AA. Heterogeneity baseline characteristics limited available data most limitations this study. Conclusions Current evidence suggests that is associated stress. More are needed strengthen association. Moreover, evaluating role use may be rewarding.
