摘要: Remediation of Bacillus anthracis-contaminated soil is challenging and approaches to reduce overall spore levels in environmentally contaminated or after intentional release the infectious disease agent a safe, low-cost manner are needed. B. anthracis spores highly resistant biocides, but once germinated they become susceptible traditional biocides potentially even natural predators such as nematodes environment. Here, we describe two-step approach reducing load during laboratory trials, whereby germinants Caenorhabditis elegans applied concurrently. While application reduced by up four logs depending on type, addition achieved further log reduction count. These based results suggest that combined use could represent promising for remediation soil.
