摘要: Understory shrubs are an important component of forest ecosystems and drive ecosystem processes, such as carbon cycling. However, shrub biomass stocks have rarely been reported, which limits our understanding C stock In this study, we evaluated accumulation species using allometric equations based on height basal diameter in six subtropical plantations at the age 1, 3, 4 6 years. The results showed that plantation type did not significantly affect total shrubs, but it affected Rhodomyrtus tomentosa, Ilex asprella, Clerodendrum fortunatum Baeckea frutescens. dominant R. I. Gardenia jasminoides Melastoma candidum increased with stand age, while C. B. frutescens decreased. inconsistent biomass-time patterns different may be primary reason for altered each plantation. Consequently, proposed G. M. could preferable understory should maintained or planted because their functions high economic values young southern China.
