摘要: In the last decade, Arctic energy research has been dominated by a focus on oil and gas exploration, development, extraction. This is introductory article to an Energy Research & Social Science special issue, entitled “Arctic Energy: Views from Sciences,” challenges this approach offers broader more inclusive perspective research. reflecting perspective, some of articles investigate social, economic, political, environmental aspects development in region while offering critiques such development’s processes initiatives, both which are usually seen positive light. Other target non-fossil sources types energy, thereby providing view as living laboratory for services. The issue’s broad also represented diverse disciplinary, professional, ethnic backgrounds contributing authors, well range conceptual methodological approaches.
