摘要: This paper revisits the cracked lap shear specimen and reports a closed form solution to determine three fracture parameters, energy release rate, mode mixity, efficiency parameter. The is based on beam-column approach pioneered by Goland Reissner. Because of geometrically nonlinear nature this specimen, it found that parameters are functions five independent nondimensional parameters. reported in provides simple useful tool design understand behavior test geometry. results suggest with an rate less dependent crack length, adherend thickness should be small compared thicker or stiffer used as strap. For unequal thickness, using strap would significantly reduce likelihood yielding adherend. Compared finite element analyses literature, shows good agreement rates, but satisfactory mixities. Finally, give reasonable explanation anomalous debond series fatigue experiment specimen.
