摘要: The hydrolysis of a series alkyl-substituted alkoxysilanes and an antimicrobial quaternary ammonium silane was investigated in water-acetone solvents by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. An internal reflectance cell employed for the investigation. Rates sequential first, second, one case third alkoxy groups were extracted nonlinear regression curves methanol concentration plotted versus time using data obtained from FTIR spectra reaction mixture. Acid catalysis observed. Condensation silanol produced similar techniques rate are presented.
