摘要: Volcanic rocks from the Lions Rump area, which are basement for a sequence of glaciomarine sediments Polonez Cove Formation, and lava flows Turret Point–Three Sisters Point area were sampled thermogeochronological palaeomagnetic investigations. Generally, andesitic lavas King George Bay consist mainly clinopyroxene (Ti-augite) orthopyroxene (hyperstene) plagioclase phenocrysts. The groundmass comprises mostly laths, clinopyroxene, titanomagnetite rare crystals. However, modal content, size, shape distribution phenocrysts variable specific each sample. Ar-Ar plateaus ages calculated very homogenous point to middle Eocene age (Lutetian, ~44.5 Ma). similar consistent volcanic that excluded thesis about separate tectonic evolution Warszawa Krakow blocks at least since Eocene.
