摘要: SummaryA deterministic decision-analytic model estimated the cost effectiveness of two therapeutic alternatives for treatment acute otitis media in tympanostomy tube patients (AOMT).Three tiers AOMT antibiotic therapy were modelled, with successive representing re-treatment failures from preceding tier. First-tier compared ciprofloxacin/dexamethasone (CD) ear drops oral amoxicillin/clavulanic acid (ACA) using clinical trial data. ACA was used as second-tier initial CD failures, whilst to re-treat failures. Cefdinir third-tier therapy. Costs presented a US payer's perspective. Sensitivity analysis established robustness model. The expected per cure $219 pathway vs. $293 pathway. Given its and side-effect profile, more effective than dominated despite higher acquisition CD.
