摘要: The biogeography of the Southern Ocean reflects complex interactions between major macro-evolutionary forces and biotic elements. Major gateway openings, establishment Antarctic Circumpolar Current climate cooling are deeply connected to composition, abundance distribution marine benthic fauna. Glacial episodes Quaternary heavily impacted genetic variation biota. genus Nacella includes 12 nominal species in different provinces Ocean. In this study, we compared patterns mitochondrial DNA diversity three from Peninsula, Kerguelen Island Patagonia. Low levels absence structure characterise each one them showing strong impact ice advances retreats over their respective demographics. Haplotype diversity, short genealogies demographic inference recorded suggest occurrence a more dramatic process Peninsula than sub-Antarctic.
