摘要: As a proven food resource generalist, Meyer's parrot (Poicephalus meyeri) was expected to track the availability of all significant resources in its diet over time. Here we recorded feeding activity during 366 standardized road transects for correlation with an index relative abundance 18 mo. expected, made decisions according at landscape level. Feeding on available throughout year (e.g. ripe Kigelia africana fruit) or not visible from air unripe Diospyros lycoides fruit), however, did correlate significantly fluctuations their abundance. In addition, 70% bouts were high canopy and items consumed formed bi-coloured displays. The influence estimated protein energy acquisition rates different insignificant. Therefore, important selection criteria utilization by include visibility (i.e. highest probability encounter when dispersing central roost). Sensitivity level demonstrates importance maximizing net gain per unit foraging time minimizing flight distance.
