摘要: The present study was undertaken for further elucidation of the mechanisms flavonoid biological activity, focusing on antioxidative and protective effects cranberry flavonoids in free radical-generating systems those mitochondrial ultrastructure during carbon tetrachloride-induced rat intoxication. Treatment rats with (7 mg/kg) chronic intoxication led to prevention damage, including fragmentation, rupture local loss outer membrane. In systems, effectively scavenged nitric oxide (IC50 = 4.4 ± 0.4 µg/ml), superoxide anion radicals (IC50 = 2.8 ± 0.3 µg/ml) hydroxyl (IC50 = 53 ± 4 µg/ml). IC50 reduction 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) 2.2 ± 0.3 µg/ml. Flavonoids prevented some extent lipid peroxidation liposomal membranes glutathione oxidation erythrocytes treated UV irradiation or organic hydroperoxides as well decreased rigidity leaflet membranes. hepatoprotective potential could be due specific liver damage. mitochondria-addressed might related both radical-scavenging properties modulation various events.
